The Sanctuary, Orapiu is a Hilltop retreat for those looking for a peaceful and spellbinding escape which is off the beaten track. The house sits above Orapiu Bay and has breathtaking views over the water, offering serene surroundings and all day sun, Soak in the Cedar spa and enjoy the sunrise over the islands in the morning round to the evening sun set over the distant view of Auckland.
The main house spacious open-plan living with Bifold doors that open out to the sweeping views and wrap around decks.
There is a galley style kitchen and the laundry with washer & dryer and a full bathroom on the living level and stairs lead you up to the master ensuite.
Then externally accessed via a sun drenched courtyard is two further bedrooms which share a full bathroom.

The surroundings are beautiful and enchanting
The house is exceptionally clean and tidy, just like the pictures. The surroundings are beautiful and enchanting, and the amenities are very well equipped, especially the room where you can lie down and watch the sunrise. It was truly unforgettable. If I have the chance, I will book this place again next time!
Amazing views and very relaxing stay
Very comfortable and tidy property. Had every thing we needed and loved the views especially from the upstairs bedroom and bathroom. The covered deck and the hot tub were great and we enjoyed watching the boats coming and going and seeing and hearing all the birds.

Spectacular views, peaceful, amazing bird life and incredible star gazing. The hot tub on the deck was an awesome bonus! Main bedroom was amazing with a balcony to sit and have a coffee in the morning watching the sunrise and a bath with a view! Loads of space and 3 bathrooms. Great wineries a short drive away and stunning coastal walk near the house.

We were absolutely thrilled with our stay at The Sanctuary, Orapiu! The house is even bigger and more luxurious than we expected and the location is even more stunning. The view from the deck out over the bay is truly spectacular. We also loved the cedar hot tub, the incredible bird-life and the gorgeous short walk through native bush to the beach. Furthermore, the house was completely immaculate, extremely well equipped with everything we needed (including a variety of coffee-making apparatuses) and communication and instructions were flawless. I think this is one of the most beautiful houses I have stayed in and would highly recommend it to everyone.

This place was absolutely perfect for us. The views and the spa especially were next level. Gorgeous quiet location, I hope we are lucky enough to stay again in the future.
We enjoyed the peace and quiet exploring the eastern end of the Island
We had a lovely stay for 3 nights. The home is very comfortable with wonderful views. We were very warm with both a heat pump and fireplace to use and enjoyed soaking in the hot tub each evening, despite the weather being very changeable! The home is easy enough to find, with clear instructions, although be prepared for the steep driveway. Using the neighbours driveway to exit is definitely easier. We enjoyed the peace and quiet exploring the eastern end of the Island. Thanks for a great stay.
